2017 Mitsubishi Lancer
The Mitsubishi Lancer is a simple compact car with a lot of appeal that boasts a refreshed, sporty exterior and three engine options to choose from. The 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer’s exterior styling is among the best in the small sedan class. It is one of the few to retain the sharp and youthful look appropriate to the segment with that tail up, nose-down stance. The sedan exterior now includes added available daytime LED running lights, and a chrome grille, plus revisions to the center console’s design.
The Lancer is priced extremely competitively for the segment and offers fantastic features for its price point. Mitsubishi’s Bluetooth-integrated Fuse voice-activated infotainment with 6.1-inch touchscreen will be standard on all 2017 Lancer trims.
And, Mitusbishi offers a full-bodied warranty and optional Mitsubishi AWC (All Wheel Control all-wheel drive), one of only a few compact cars that does.
Features of the 2017 Lancer
The 2017 Lancer trims come with standard heated power-adjustable outside mirrors, cruise control, automatic climate control, and a standard rear-view camera, with the SEL adding standard leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and a 140-watt, 6-speaker stereo with satellite radio and HD Radio. An available Navigation System package adds GPS navigation and a 7.1-inch touchscreen, while stand-alone options include LED fog lights, a rear spoiler, and rear parking sensors.
Additional list of standard equipment includes: 60/40-split folding rear seats, heated front seats, power windows, locks, keyless entry, Mitsubishi’s voice activation system, Fuse, controls the audio and navigation systems, LCD display with infotainment system, reverse camera, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, cruise control, four-speaker audio system, automatic two-zone climate control. If you are in the market for features such as leather-coated steering wheel, leather upholstery, HD satellite radio, rearview camera and Rockford Fostgate six-speaker sound system, take a look at the SE or SEL trim levels. The range now consists of ES, SE Limited, and GTS trims.
If you’re looking for additional functionality you can explore the five door body style option, Sportback.
If you’re looking for a slightly sportier appearance take a look at the Lancer GTS which gets the more powerful 2.4-litre engine as standard, plus seats with added bolstering, sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels, and more. It’s available in both manual and CVT with front-wheel drive, or with the AWC all-wheel drive system. The GTS trim offers handling that’s a bit more focused than the other trims.
Standard safety features on all 2017 Mitsubishi Lancers include anti-lock disc brakes, traction and stability control, a rear view camera, front seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and a driver knee airbag. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Lancer its top score of Good in moderate-overlap front-impact, side-impact, roof strength and head restraint (whiplash protection) tests, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2016 Lancer 4 out of 5 stars for overall crash-worthiness.
